FCSTAT is proud and honored to offer several scholarship opportunities for those affiliated with Family and Consumer Sciences. The deadline for all the scholarships is Friday, March 18, 2022. Scholarships are .PDF fillable and are required to be submitted electronically with all proper documentation. FCSTAT welcomes two seniors from Texas State University Applied Sociology's internship program. Special thanks to TXST for providing us two incredible students, Tatyana Johnson and Eric Pulido-Ceja. Both are graduating this semester with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sociology.

Like they have for more than 25 years now, students with the School District of La Crosse worked to make a series of pumpkin pies to donate to a community Thanksgiving dinner. This is a good idea for Thanksgiving 2022. Watch video.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued updated advice about eating fish that incorporates the recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), 2020-2025. Done in coordination with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this update revises the advice that was last issued in 2019. In the advice, we use “fish” to refer to both fish and shellfish.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association of Texas released a new look on November 1, 2021. The new website now accepts payments online and is user-friendly. Members can still access the membership database by visiting the membership page. You will login the same way as before using either your work or personal email address. If you are a board director, you have special access by logging into the Board's private page. If you need assistance, please contact FCSTAT.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers Association has hired a new Executive Director, Lisa Adams. After 31 years of service for the FCSTAT, Terry Green retired on August 31st. We wish her well with her new endeavors. Feel free to reach out to Lisa and say hello, or to share any ideas you may have that benefits the FCSTAT.
