Congratulations to the 2024 FCSTAT Scholarship Winners:Estrella Trujillo - Billie Chapman ScholarshipBillie Chapman SCHOLARSHIPFormerly known as the FCSTAT scholarship and established in 2009, the Billie Chapman scholarship recognizes academic excellence and outstanding achievement for graduating seniors who are members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and/or Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE). In 2023, the scholarship was renamed in Billie Chapman's honor to recognize her 40 years of service as FCSTAT's Executive Director. ruth huey fellowshipIn 1968, FCSTAT established the Ruth Huey Fellowship in memory of Miss Ruth Huey, former State Director of Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Texas Education Agency. The Fellowship was initiated to provide funds for members of FCSTAT for graduate studies. Proposed studies must be in the field of family and consumer sciences and must be relevant to the current curriculum and/or issues regarding family and consumer sciences education. Applicants must have held membership in the FCSTAT for three consecutive years prior to applying for the Fellowship. judith hetherly scholarshipEstablished in 1998 in honor of Ms. Hetherly, former director of Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Texas Education Agency, from 1983 - 1996. This scholarship is available to children of FCSTAT members who have been members for three consecutive years. gay nell mcginnis scholarshipIn 2013, FCSTAT established the Gay Nell McGinnis Scholarship in honor of the former State Director of Family and Consumer Sciences Education, Texas Education Agency. The scholarship was initiated to provide funds for members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and/or Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE), who have declared a major in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Applicants must be nominated by a current FCSTAT member. |
